Years ago some coworkers and I decided to do lunch potlucks. There’s something magical about coming around the table together with food we’ve prepared. But we also wanted to keep things simple for everyone… so we made these potlucks “Yumm Bowl” themed. I took it upon myself to bring the Yumm Sauce. And I basically brought a vat of it. It was all the rage.
Have you had these from Cafe Yumm? Simple rice and bean bowls with toppings for days. Tomatoes, olives, avocado, veggies of choice, garnishes galore, and really whatever your heart desires in the world of savory bowls. Whenever we had these potlucks, we’d each bring one element and together we’d combine forces to make the best customized bowls.
And this sauce is truly so easy to put together. Most of the ingredients you will find in your pantry right now. If you’re out of curry powder or if you’re feeling ambitious and have some whole spices in your kitchen, you can make your own curry powder spice blend!
Aside from that, all you need is a blender. It is super tasty so I wanted to share it with you! If dinnertime is around the corner and you need to conjure up something real fast, just grab some rice, beans and whatever else your heart desires (or whatever you have around), then douse it with this sauce and you’ll have yourself a bowl of yumm.
