Today is super chilly and colds are knocking at our door — but have no fear! A turmeric wellness toddy is here.
Here we are, in the thick of spring, and as we all know that April showers bring May flowers. And goodness gracious do we need the rain! We have had some serious wildfire action so bring on the precipitation. I mean last year it was in the 80s in the Pacific NW… and that is unheard of! As much as I enjoy the sunny weather, I am all about springtime rain. It makes our summers lovely, and not fire zones.
So thankfully we’ve got raindrops in the forecast. But you know what else we’ve got on the forecase? Snow. SNOW!!! What is happening?! In April?!!!
The thought of snow, even if it’s happening in the late nights and not sticking around during the day, makes me want to grab a scarf and man-socks (you know, the really thick socks that seem to only be sold in the men’s section? Rude.) But since most of that wintery wardrobe is packed away, I’m going to cozy up with a warm drink and get toasty from the inside out — while also adding in some healthful benefits.
Enter the Turmeric Wellness Toddy!
It’s jam-packed with soothing, warming spices and a healthy dose of vitamin C that will wake you up at first sip (get ready to pucker!!). I hope you enjoy this as much as I do, and that it becomes a regular addition to your cozy drink rotation!
Spicy Side Note
Turmeric (pronounce that first “r”, I promise you you’ll be saying it right) is actually somewhat of a bitter spice. Not really something you dream about munching on. But it lends a unique flavor and beautiful color to all the foods it graces. Not to mention it adds a host of health benefits!! Seriously, at the sight of a cold my family whips up all sorts of remedies and turmeric is pretty much guaranteed as a featured player.
