In my youth, I was not a fan of being around spices. Not because I didn’t like the tastes, but more so because of the comments I’d receive about “smelling spicy.” I guess I was trying to avoid letting the world know that, yes, I in fact am Indian. Shocking, I know.
But now if you smell my spiciness, I don’t mind. Go on and smell me. I’d love to show you how to spice things up!

Strawberry Cardamom Thumbprint Cookies
Ingredients
- ⅔ cup 70 grams almond flour
- ⅓ cup 45 grams tapioca flour
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
- 6 teaspoons strawberry jam (or jelly/jam of choice — honestly I can’t think of a flavor that wouldn’t go with this cookie base!
Instructions
- Combine everything, but the jam, until a dough forms.
- Roll dough into balls. Flatten each ball and create a little well in the middle.
- Fill each well with jam.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees until the bottoms begins to brown. Let cool and enjoy!
