This year, Mother’s Day is brought to you by the color blue… via this Blue Matcha Latte!
This blue matcha gets its gorgeous hue from butterfly pea flower powder (so technically it isn’t actually matcha as it’s flowers and not from a tea plant — and has no caffeine). Just a few more ingredients and it comes together rather quickly — and beautifully.
Blue is a lovely color! It’s a favorite of so many people. In nature, it’s so stunning (i.e. butterfly pea flowers). It surrounds us from the sky and covers a good chunk of our earth. Blue also can represent sadness. Or be a little scary and overwhelming. But it also can be whimsical and fun. It’s a powerful color. And there’s just a lot wrapped up in this simple primary color.
And I know it kinda feels like a weird thing to post for Mother’s Day, but as complex as the color blue can be, so is this day and all the experiences, memories, celebrating, mourning, and range of emotions it holds.
So however you’re feeling about today, if you just love this day, if you’re triggered by it, or if you’re feeling a whole lot of things all at once, I raise this cup of blue to you and all the feels!
Whoever you may be, you are beautiful and you are loved! I hope you take time to care for yourself in the way that serves you best. And when you get a chance, I encourage you to sip this blue cup of comfort.
