There’s lemonade. Then there’s lavender lemonade. And THEN there’s MAGIC LAVENDER LEMONADE!! And it lives up to its name. Just look at that beauty — she’s like a sunset!
This not only captures the culinary floral goodness of the season but it incorporates another flower to take it over the rainbow into a land of magic and butterflies! Blue butterfly pea flowers to be exact! Have you tried this beautifully fun flower tea before? I shared it earlier this year in a lemony herbal magic tea. Those pretty flowers are just so fun to brew and drink.
There’s really not much else to say about this magic lavender lemonade, so I guess I’ll just leave you with the recipe.
Magic Lavender Lemonade
Ingredients
- ¾ cup boiling water (portioned into ½ and ¼ cups)
- 5 dried blue butterfly pea flowers
- 1 teaspoon dried lavendar
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- ice
Instructions
- Steep dried blue butterfly pea flowers in ½ cup of boiling water, until a deep blue color. Set aside to cool
- Steep dried lavender flowers in ¼ cup of boiling water, and set aside until cool.
- In a small cup, combine lemon juice, maple syrup, vanilla. Strain steeped lavendar into lemon concoction. Stir to combine.
- Fill a separate, tall glass with ice and pour the lemonade concentrate over the ice.
- Top it off with the cooled, steeped blue butterfly pea flower liquid, and watch the magical purple color appear!
