This is a frozen, flavorful, and all-natural version of cherry limeade. A CHERRY LIME POPSICLE! It captures seasonal fruit and a seasonal treat all in one.
Also, I don’t know what it is about cherries, but they always deliver the softest texture when it comes to popsicles. It reminds me of store-bought, super sugary, additive-filled popsicles. But it’s made with tummy-friendly foods. And somehow still manages to have that artificial food texture that we know and love! For my aging millenial teeth, I appreciate not having to gnaw on my frozen treats.
All ya gotta do for this is pit ya cherries, blend it with lime juice, its zest, nondairy yogurt (s/o to my brand of choice), and maple. Pour into your molds — freeze overnight and VOILA! Cherry lime popsicles for you and me!
Molds for Your Cherry Lime Popsicle
The popsicle mold you use will ultimately determine how many servings you end up with. The popsicle molds I use aren’t the magnum bar shaped or rectangular-shaped ones you see all over the internet. They are much bigger but are very cute! For the last decade, I have used smaller cylindrical-shaped ones from the dollar store that hold about 1/4 cup in each cavity. They are almost identical to the ones I grew up with. This is the closest I could find online for you as a comparison and actually made with better material than what I have. Classic! So cute. So fun.
Whatever mold you use, big or small, I’m sure you will find refreshment and a moment of chill with this cherry lime popsicle!
Cherry Lime Popsicles
Ingredients
- 2 cups cherries, pitted
- ½ cup fresh lime juice + zest from all limes used
- ½ cup nondairy yogurt (my fav brand is Forager)
- ¼ cup maple syrup
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth.
- Pour into popsicle molds and place the popsicle stick in. You may need to readjust the popsicle stick a couple hours in to straighten it as the popsicle mix was so liquidy to begin with.
- Freeze overnight.
- Run outside of mold under hot water to loosen the popsicle. Remove from mold and enjoy!
