I hesitate to post this because this is hardly a recipe. But listen, I can’t not post this because IT IS SO GOOD!!! Let me tell you about my love of sriracha toast.
My life was changed nearly 8 years ago when I went to a wedding shower that was “toast & tea” themed. And let me tell you, they went all out!
There was every possible tea, bread, and toast topping available! What more could you even want?! The kind hostess noticed me gravitating toward the almond butter, so she suggested a pairing with it. And I’ll be honest, at first it sounded a tad odd, but I leaned in and listened close…
She told me she first tried it when she was in Thailand and she said she now eats almond butter-sriracha sandwiches the way most people eat PB&J!
Not being one to ignore culinary suggestions, I dove right in and took a bite not really knowing what to expect. And it took me a second to catch onto what was happening. And then it hit…
POW!!!
Nutty, slightly sweet, and spicy notes twirled around in my mouth. And before I knew it I was going for thirds.
This flavor combo is one I haven’t yet forgotten and it has rocked my taste buds ever since the first toasty bite, and I believe it’s for the betterment of all humankind. Pair it with plain white bread, or a bird seed bread — or even cinnamon-raisin bread!
I’m telling you that this is something you will want to try before you pass on from this life. So grab your favorite slice of bread, slather on, and take a bite out of crime. Just kidding, but you know, I actually wouldn’t be surprised if this aided in world peace. It’s just that tasty.
